Sue Ryan

Sue's interest in writing and literature was triggered during her years at Secondary School in Oxfordshire. She began by writing poems, progressing to short stories and, more recently, flash fiction. She started her debut novel several years ago, purely on a whim. It was forgotten about, put aside, reread, rewritten and finally completed during lockdown in 2020. The backdrop to the novel is the London advertising scene, where Sue worked during the 80s. Here, she met her husband - Nick - who wrote and produced the very first Just One Cornetto jingle. Their oldest son, Patrick, is a lead writer for a popular video game and younger son, Alex, is musical director and bass player with Hozier - a famous singer/songwriter from Ireland. In the year 2000, the family moved from Leigh-on-Sea in Essex to County Kerry in Ireland. Patrick and Alex are currently based in Dublin.
