We have been to the Wildlife Zoo

by

'We have been to the Wildlife Zoo', is a day filled with individual written and illustrated portraits of animals and people during a family day out. Delight at the high diving penguins, wombats with pet cats, people eating too many ice creams and hippos bursting at the seams to name just a few. A colourful almost subversive and on occasion mildly ridiculous look at the family day out to the time served institution, we know as 'The Zoo'.

The day is filled from end to end with astute verse that matches the light and colour of the illustrations. During this big 'Family Day Out' a cross section of Zoo favourites and a sprinkling of some of the more unusual animals in our world appear, along with some people of course. The day takes the reader through the Zoo during the morning and into the afternoon. Ultimately finishing at the last enclosure of the day when it is time to go home.

With lavish full colour illustrations on every page, and an easy to read flow, this is certainly a book to delight the reader, the listener and the viewer.

An illustrated story about a small cat and a large brown bear, who are the best of friends, and live together under the roots of an old tree in the twilight world of a forest

Beautiful illustrations and a fun story to read, makes you feel like you’re walking through the zoo. My son excitedly waited with every flip to see what’s on the next page. I highly recommend this e-book.

I liked the book a lot, I was able to read the words and everything, they weren’t difficult at all.

I would like to read another book from this author soon as I get enough pocket money.

A lovely book which just about covers every single animal you will find at a wildlife zoo.
Will no doubt make all children laugh with the poo at the beginning!the illustrations were cute too - great little read.

What a wonderful book, the illustrations are amazing along with the stories it took me straight back to A visit to Chester zoo in the U.K. This book is a must if you have small children or in my case you just want to be reminded of your youth. Truly a enjoyable read, give it a try you will not regret it.

What a fantastic and fun read for the young and old. I personally love the descriptive and the fun way the Author describes what you see and experience with both the animals and visitors at the zoo. I would definitely recommend this well written book with its brilliant illustrations.

I read this book with my daughter and she loved guessing and naming the animals.

The book was well written and the story was easy to follow.

The illustrations were lovely and worked really well with the story to bring it to life.

It is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended!

I dont normally read childrens books but it was about a zoo and I love animals so I just had to read it.

From the start the diagrams jumped out at me. Seeing all the different animals in the diagrams made me smile. The colours were beautiful aswell.

The pages were written to rhyme to make it easier for children to understand.

Children will love this book.

A much travelled observationalist with a love of wildlife, illustration and mildly ridiculous humour

Lucky enough to have lived in six, worked in twenty five and visited over forty countries, spanning East & West Europe, The African Continent, Asia, North America , Australia and New Zealand. I am now finally, ( which sounds a bit final !)

a permanent resident in Spain.

Strongly grateful for the unerring support of my diverse and beautiful family, without whom I am not at all sure the inspiration would come

I glean a certain, almost addictive, satisfaction from writing and illustrating for the joy of sharing light, colour and humour with children of all ages, I hope you enjoy the book
