Tails of Ae'tann: A Sunset Story Part 1

The First Fields

There's more in our World than we ever dreamed existed.

In this first part of A Sunset Story, Red, Olive and Ollie are three adorable puppies eagerly waiting to be born into the World. When a silly decision leads to tragic and unintended consequences, they are drawn into a mysterious realm filled with wonder and awe, new friends and allies, but also evil, unimaginable to their young minds. Filled with loveable and quirky characters, epic clashes and dramatic moments, The First Fields sees Red, Olive and Ollie embark on a grand journey of danger and discovery.

A Sunset Story, the first series in the Tails of Ae'tann universe, is set in the parallel realm of Ae'tann, the true home of animals, and the world that we live in. It builds on the unbreakable bond between people and animals, as animal Guardians are pitted against monstrous Shadows, and reluctant heroes are thrown against misguided villains to create an epic animal adventure that is timeless.

The story explores the following questions: What happens before animals are born? What happens if and when they die? What if they don't really pass from the world? What if they are around, and have always been around to protect humans and the other animals in the world? What if all of that was the precursor to all the great stories, myths and legends of the world?

Behind the enjoyable fast-paced fantasy adventure, the story explores the sobering reality that bad things can, and do, happen to good people. What do you do when these things happen, how do you react; is it with courage, responsibility, grace under fire? The story is also about the sacrifices you make, whether adult or child, and how if you have love and hope, you can always persevere.

With its layered themes and universe, this is a story that both children and adults will love.

Tails of Ae'tann: A Sunset Story was a medal winner for Juvenile Fiction at the 2017 USA IPPY Independent Publisher Awards
