A humorously illustrated duo of children’s books take two pairs of youngsters on exciting journeys across America and to a mysterious tropical island.
Holly and Woody live with their parents in New York City. Holly loves to sing and dance and Woody is good at carpentry, making Hollywood-style film sets in his room. The children have dreams of going to Hollywood and imagine they can see California from the top of the Empire State Building!
By accident they escape from a theme park in a covered wagon, and find themselves travelling westwards to the Mississippi and then following – by a devious route – the trail of the pioneers. They meet up with odd characters and have endless adventures as they travel through prairie, mountain and desert.
Will their Hollywood dream come true?
