Pop Rivals

by

Two classmates at an ordinary suburban high school dream of becoming pop stars. Terry Smith is ambitious and gifted; a gypsy with a voice as big as his heart. Ray Rosetti certainly looks the part and has his father’s money to back him. But has he got any talent? Sparks fly as the two bitter rivals compete to turn their dreams into reality. Which of them will get to number one?

Denis trained for the theatre at The Rose Bruford College in South London. He then worked as an actor on stage and television before spending some years as a teacher. He finally gave up teaching when he was commissioned to write some episodes for the children's TV programme, PIPKINS. This series was a huge success and ran for five years. It was followed by the equally successful TV and radio programmes: RAINBOW, THE MUNCH BUNCH, LET'S PRETEND, THE LISTENING CORNER and, more recently PICME. Books followed the success of his earlier TV programmes and to date Denis has published more than 70 titles. He is constantly in demand for his author visits and writers' workshops in schools and libraries throughout the UK and abroad and can be booked for these events through Speaking Of Books on 0208 858 6616
