Amanda lives in a village near St Ives in Cambridgeshire with her husband and her very vocal miniature long-haired dachshund. She has 2 grown up children and enjoys playing the saxophone in a local sixties soul band. After completing a teaching degree in Mathematics and Education in 1989 Amanda became a primary school teacher and later gained an MA in Education in 2001. She has spent 27 rewarding years teaching in various primary schools in Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire. The last 4 of those years were as a primary maths specialist teacher supporting children who found maths difficult. Recently Amanda has been using the skills she developed over her many years of teaching to privately tutor struggling maths students.
