Genara was born in a small town on the Eastern Coast of the Dominican Republic known more for its iconic baseball players – think Sammy Sosa and more recently Robinson Cano – than for its poetry. But San Pedro de Macoris itself was a rhythmic poem, inspired by that ancient muse – the Caribbean Sea.
