Fate and the Prince is Rose M. Vann’s second collection of poetry. In it she explores the familiar themes of lost love, the sadness of old age, death and the possibility of God.
The search for meaning evident in most of the poems is balanced by some lighter moments celebrating the beauty of the natural world.
From the poem Fate and the Prince in this collection:
The dark prince said:
‘Look into the vast reaches of the sky.
There, between Venus and fiery Mars:
An angel clambering amongst the stars.’
