Allsorts of Stories

by

I have always liked writing. Even as a teenager I wrote stories. Sometimes I made a book and illustrated it. In later life I entered a local competition with a short story, and I actually won! So gradually over the years, as time and circumstances have allowed I have written these stories.
As an idea came into my mind, I worked around it and formed a story. After quite a while I realised I had over 50 written, 30 of which I have chosen for this book, mostly around the same length, but I have one that is longer. I began to think that it would be nice to see them in print, though it has taken me a long time to put that thought into action.
Some of the stories are things that have really happened to me, and enhanced to make them interesting. Many of them have a surprise ending to make a good outcome, or an unexpected ending. They are fairly short, some are amusing, some though provoking, so they captivate and hold the attention. All sorts of subjects come into my head and I think them out until they make an interesting story.
The writing has gone on over quite a few years. Having this collection of stories I thought I would like other people to read them. I began to think that it would be good to see my name printed on a book for others to see. I am 86 years old, and it was time to do something with them, it was 'now or never'.
So here is my book, hopefully to be enjoyed by many.
