I have over the years read several yoga books. This is the first I can recommend to one and all! The beauty of this book is its logical sequence of the weekly programmes. Weekly sets of postures are given in ever increasing complexity to allow the body to adapt. Easy to perform, there is nothing strenuous in the sequence of postures. Superb illustrations accompany the well balanced text to make learning yoga a pleasure. Even a child can follow the simple language and the well arranged illustrations. For the scientifically minded, the first part of the book will be a revelation. Difficult concepts are explained with an amazing simplicity. Proper breathing and its vital importance; prana as the driving power of creation; diet and its importance; ethics and their importance, etc are combined and their relation to health and happiness explained in terms easy for anyone to comprehend.

The concepts of 'prana' and 'pranayama' are presented in a new light. The importance of ethics and proper diet in daily life is emphasised. Every posture is explained with several illustrations. Well presented, easy to follow. Just what a beginner needs, it is as suitable for the advanced student. One can advance gradually, at one's own pace. Without any technical jargon, it is suitable as a basic reference work. Complete in itself, there is no need for another book. The ebook version is very user friendly. I am IMPATIENTLY waiting for the hard copy to be out early november.
