A History of Dunster

The Castle and Village

A History of Dunster :The Castle and Village explores the local history of Dunster Castle and its surrounding area in Somerset.

This book, which covers the local history dating as far back as to 1066, captures the development of the village from Anglo-Saxon rule and the turn of the Medieval period right up and to the 21st century.

Dunster Castle lies on the top of a steep hill, known as the Tor where it has welcomed visitors for hundreds of years. Today Dunster Castle is operated by the National Trust and is recognised as one of the UK's popular tourist attractions

This is Bev's third book and concentrates on the development and social history of the Minehead area rather than the emphasis on the leading families in earlier books about the nearby village of Dunster
