I brought this for my grandson as a Christmas present and couldn't help sneak a look before wrapping it. What a delight! So often a book disappoints, but here the writing is superbly crafted, and the author clearly treats the reader as an equal, there's no preaching or patronising as all too often in anything that's remotely connected with religious subjects. I thought the descriptive prose was beautifully written, the subject itself is sensitively but imaginatively treated and I was left quite emotional after reading. I'm afraid I never gave it to my grandson! My only gripe is that it's not very long!
