Full Text: I loved this book from beginning to end and I am looking to see if Rohan West has written anything else. This is a lovely and unusual love story set in New Zealand just after the Napier Earthquake. The main characters are a minister and a nurse both of whom work for the Roman Catholic church. The church do their best to keep them apart but their love is too strong. It was especially lovely to see that this is based on a true story of Rohan's grandparents. I thoroughly recommend this book as a serious but beautiful love story

I normally do not read fiction but decided to take a chance considering it is based on two real people in the author's life. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I could not wait to pick up where I left off in my reading every day! I'm fascinated by people that make amazing commitments and then decide to turn against those same promises in the hope of love. This book kept me in suspense, delighted me and, yet, sometimes sad in my yearning for their love to be brought together. For the more serious, maybe more nonfiction reader, I would highly recommend this book. For those that love fiction, you will be super captivated and enchanted!
