Firstly, let me say I’m not medical expert. In fact, I have no medical expertise what so ever, and yet I still very much enjoyed this book. The book highlights the stories and experiences from the other side of the doctor’s desk, looking at us the patients. Also the changes in the NHS over the last 54 years, and there have been many. For me the most enjoyable part was the patient tales. Some stories had me laughing out loud, others quietly contemplative. It is written in a fast pace way that just make you want to keep turning pages. There are some eye-opening facts about the modern NHS that I found both interesting and slightly worrying for the future of our beloved NHS. This is a biography everyone that has either been to the doctors or their local A&E dept should read.
