Loved the cover, couldn't wait to read it. What was all that blood about, would I like it?
Well I couldn't put it down the housework suffered. Really enjoyed reading this and can't wait for more from this author.
Well, firstly the cover made me pick it up. It really stood out from other books. Superbly written, with a descriptive but fast-moving plot (perfect for me with a short attention span)! Kept me hooked until the last page. Looking forward to the sequel soon please .....
by Jo Moss
Fantastic storyline and so well written too. I couldnt put it down as so engrossed in the twists and turns, found myself shouting at the detective!!!
Would never think this was a first book by the author.
by Mary Palmer
Forgot to mention that I loved the cover, really eye catching, that truly represented the story.

Best book I have ever read, literally could not put it down. Loved impatient plain speaking DCI Longbridge, loathed schmoozer Dr Miles Peterson. HATED his wife Dr Charlotte Peterson. Loved Molly and Gina. Got exasperated with interfering sports reporter of the local Courier Andrew Gale. This book quite literally got right into my soul and I felt I was in Kirkdale. Ali Carter leaves each chapter ending on a cliff edge. Cannot wait to hear what happens next ................
by Roz Benfield
What a great book. Once I started I had to finish. Looking forward to number two...
What an absolutely gripping read, just left me wanting more. Totally believable characters and a fantastic blood curdling plot. Loved it and can’t wait for more from this author. What a brilliant debut from Ali Carter.
by Freda Garget
So... I have finished my book!!!!!!
It’s the first book in absolute years that I could not put down. I had to keep reading to find out more.
Loved every minute. I even made an excuse to leave early from dinner to get to read the book!!!!
I don’t normally read this type of book. Love historical fiction, especially all around the King Arthur period. No idea why but I do! But Ali, you have converted me .
Seriously I thoroughly enjoyed it.
When’s your next one coming out. Put me on the mailing list.
In fact ..... I’ll come down for the launch !!!!
This is a brilliant read. Best book I have picked up for ages. So easy to follow the story which keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Good quality paper. Good all rounder.
Well done Ali

BLOOD LIST An Excellent Debut By Ali Carter.
What an amazing debut for Ali. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish. It's a fast paced read totally gripping and keeps you guessing right until the very end. It is a great plot and the characters are believable. I can't wait for the next book that Ali writes because i know it will be just as good as this one. Definitely worth 5 stars for me you really won't be disappointed. I also think it will do fantastic when it is available digitally but for me there is nothing like holding an actual book in your hands. So what are you waiting for go buy it.
by Louise Unsworth-Murphy
Fabulous read from beginning to end. Loved the characters, but in particular the places where the book was set, I felt like I was right there. The book is well written and a real page turner which really keeps you interested. I will look forward to the sequel!.
by Nicky Coyle
A great debut book from a very talented writer. I really enjoyed reading it, didn't want to put it down, always wanted to read the next chapter. Loved the way the plot unfolded with the twists at the end. I could visualise the characters and the locations so well because of how the book was written, Very much looking forward to the sequel.
by Susan Evans
I really enjoyed this book, I was captivated from the start. Ali Carter really draws you in and made the characters come alive!....I'm a busy mum of a five year old and work full time so was relieved to have shorter chapters then most novels I've read. Every night I looked forward to diving back into it, the suspense was killing me!
If you like a good crime read which leaves you hooked from the start, a real page turner, then this is the book for you! ...
Can not wait for the sequel to be out :-)
by Karen Trotter
A great read. Lots of tension, lots of descriptive story telling. I loved it ... gripping stuff!
by Stephanie Taylor
400 pages, 4 days, couldn't put the flippin' thing down!
by Adrian Figgess
Leading a busy life I was slow in getting to read this exciting crime novel by Ali Carter but once started, like others, I could not put the book down - a real ‘page turner’ ! The characters were interesting and believable and their motivations intriguing! The book maintains, in my view, a good balance between ‘action’ and ‘investigation’ and I look forward to her next novel!
by Andy Tyler.
Absolutely loved this book, a wonderful fast paced thriller with an utterly terrifying plot that draws you in immediately. Ali Carter delivers a superb story and gives us the truly sinister Charlotte Peterson. This is a fabulous read, I took it on holiday and couldn't read it fast enough. The plot was cleverly written, exciting and complex, with Kirkdale and all its characters brought to life on every page. Loved the ending.
It's been a while since I've read any crime fiction, but the cover on this book caught my eye as it really stood out so got my attention. It's certainly a page turner, the characters are really believable and quite detailed. The wow moments in the story, (of which there are plenty), certainly leave your jaw floor bound! Like others I also liked the fact that the chapters weren't too long as this meant I could fit them in easily in between jobs. An excellent debut, I can thoroughly recommend Blood List and am already finding myself actively awaiting the sequel!
by Alan Carter
A great debut novel, fast paced and full of tension. Well done Ali!
by Lin H
Finished this book in 2 days. A real page turner with unexpected twists and turns and a finale which makes me can’t wait for the sequel. Very well written and the characters are believable. The plot and basis of the book leaves the reader wanting to find out what Charlotte will do next and who is next on the blood list. Well done Ali on such a brilliant debut novel.
by Paula Purnell
Wow, I really enjoyed this book by new author Ali Carter! From the fantastic setting in Kurkdale to the mix of characters, it kept you interested throughout the book. From trying to figure out the weapon used to the pure evilness of her character, I couldn’t put it down! Looking forward to the sequel.
Blood list is the perfect chilling thriller with its outrageous main character a psychological killer who stops at nothing in achieving her cold blooded murders. Charlotte Peterson shows no mercy for her list of victims in a blood thirsty attack of resentment and revenge in this beautiful descriptive plot from a very talented writers debut novel that I never wanted to end.
Ali Carter has an impeccable way of making her every character of the book believable in realistic word qualities that automatically create pictures in the mind of the reader.
by Terry Sewell
A brilliant first novel from Ali. Thrilling reading from start to finish. Couldn't put it down. Looking forward to the next one.
by Marilyne Lade
I have to give this book five stars, I couldn't put it down! My husband was ignored all over the weekend so I'm not very popular right now! :-)
Can totally recommend this book - and it's sequel "Dead Girls Don't Cry" - equally great.
by Gillian Eke
This brilliant book had me hooked from page one. Such believable characters & I really felt as though I was "in" the story. The last paragraph of each chapter kept me wanting to read the next....& the next until I wanted to know all the answers but didn't want it to end. So many twists & turns, the scenes left you under no illusion as to what had happened but left the perfect amount of detail for the reader still to use their imagination, great writing technique! It's honestly one of the best books I've read, everything unfolded cleverly, no loose ends & I'm so glad I bought the 2nd one at the same time.....so much to look forward to as the story continues .....LOVED it!
by Caron French
The captivating characters, intriguing plot and sub-plots, and beautiful setting of this novel soon had me hooked and losing sleep as I had to know what happened next.
The setting reminded me of Midsomer Murders – but with a massive rush of adrenaline. Saying that, there was nothing cozy about this gripping tale of revenge by a serial killer intent on causing mayhem in the town, and wiping out anyone perceived as a threat.
Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen next, the author added another unexpected twist.
I was surprised when a character set off in a direction I hadn’t expected, yet the author skilfully entwined the sub-plots which was extremely satisfying and exciting. It was also a clever way of demonstrating how our past can influence our future and form characteristics that aren’t always obvious to others.
A fabulous read, highly recommended for lovers of crime and psychological thrillers.
by Deb McEwan
Excellent book, gripping from the very start.Really enjoyed it & just about to start her new book.
by Jane goacher

Excellent book.Gripping thriller.

Surrey born, Ali Carter currently lives in Norfolk with her husband, a retired Met. Police Officer who was a great help in assuring legalities in Blood List are as accurate as possible.
She used to write poetry in the 80s and 90s attracting some publishing and competition successes, but Blood List is her first book and the sequel, Dead Girls Don't Cry, is due for release May 2020.
Her writing day is usually accompanied by a few of her far too many dogs and cats that seem to find their way into her not exactly gigantic study, but the company is welcomed as writing can be a pretty isolating occupation at times. (Lately there's been an overspill into the lounge where she now tends to also write late at night when the house is quiet.)
Her passion is definitely murder (and cake!), but has an equal interest in natural health topics and a fun approach to life!
