GOLDENWOOD BARNABY AND HIS AMAZING ADVENTURES!
by Nicky Coyle
Walk through The Magic Dog Flap and join Barnaby, The Duchess, CC For Short, The Reverend Dawg Collar and a host of other characters in the happy fun-filled land of Goldenwood.
Follow Barnaby and his friends as they enjoy a spectacular Ball at Barkingham Palace. Join him as he takes 'The Hot Seat' on Goldenwood's very own quiz show "Million Dollar Dawgie". Laugh at the madness as The Goldenwood Players perform their own version of Cinderella.
Visit "The Goldenwood Games" where you can follow the trials and tribulations of various dogs as they take part in events, including Dock Diving, Tennis and Ten Pin Bowling.
Will Bert win gold in The Shot Put Competition? Or will CC For Short beat arch rival Priscilla Petty-Claw in the tennis final? Go rowing on the River Gold with Barnaby's cousin Cosmo and enjoy lunch at The Full Bowl Pub.
Sing along as each day starts with a cheerful song especially mixed with unique doggie lyrics to keep you smiling all day. Lots more canine capers are to be had with each new story, not forgetting a helping of canine love to fill your heart. Will Spirit and CC For Short become an item?!.
Finish the golden year and enjoy the antics of Dilly and Dally Dachshund as they teach Barnaby to ice skate. Attend the Goldenwood Christmas Carol Service and keep the true meaning of Christmas alive, but most of all smile and let yourself be transported to magic land of Goldenwood Barnaby And His Amazing Adventures!.
I have had the unique pleasure of purchasing this magical book. I am a bit biased, as I have a golden retreiver at home who displays the same "imaginative" behaviors as Barnaby. I loved the action packed visits to Goldenwood and enjoyed each of Barnaby's adventures. This is an adult AND a children's book. The writing is filled with clever plays on words but also chock full of interactions that kids will relate to and enjoy. How Barnaby and his friends think about humans is quite funny. I have often wondered about that with our own dog, and Nicky Coyle (and Barnaby) have provided me with a much better understanding. So I would get yourself a copy. It will be a welcome addition to your library!
