Lukas Neckermann is a strategy advisor, entrepreneur and educator with 20 years of leadership experience in automotive, media and financial services in the US, the UK and Germany. His passion is for guiding corporate visions toward strategy and implementation through innovation processes, planning and staff engagement. He is an evangelist and consultant to companies on the "Three Zeroes" of transformative change in the automobile industry: Zero Emissions, Zero Accidents, Zero Ownership.
After beginning his career at a radio station in Ithaca, New York, Lukas joined BMW Group in Munich, where he was responsible for interactive media and Internet marketing as well as licensing BMWs for video games. At BMW, he also developed the communication strategy for the Z8 and worked in Internal Marketing Consulting. After BMW, he held significant leadership roles at financial services company Allianz SE, including Head of Business Development for Allianz Automotive. He left the Allianz Group after several years as Commercial Director and member of the Executive Board at Euler Hermes in the UK and Ireland.
Independently, Lukas was a member of the core team of the first Open Source Car project (TheOSCarproject.org), co-founded Monoventure Srl (a real-estate investment company in Romania), MN Innovative Communication Inc. in New York, Neckermann Ltd in London and the Freckleray brand. He regularly works with leading management consulting companies, is a Senior Advisor to the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), and is Senior Advisor of a start-up for shared electric vehicles.
Lukas is an Adjunct Faculty member at New York University, has lectured and taught courses to thousands of executives from over 40 countries and has spoken at countless conferences on marketing, business development, communication, leadership and corporate education. He holds a Bachelorâ€™s degree in Science and Technology Studies from Cornell University and an MBA from New York Universityâ€™s Stern School of Business. He divides his time between London, Munich and upstate New York.
