Beginner's COBIT Companion: Preparing for the COBIT 4.1 Foundation Examination

by

Passing the COBIT 4.1 Foundation Examination is not difficult; but you do need to know the basics of COBIT 4.1 well, in order to do so. Beginner’s COBIT Companion: Preparing for the COBIT 4.1 Foundation Examination can help you to learn the basics of COBIT 4.1.

It contains extensive extracts from the original COBIT 4.1 manual, reproduced under license from ISACA/ITGI, as well as three, forty-question, mock exams to help you gauge your probable readiness to sit the COBIT 4.1 Foundation Examination. Beginner’s COBIT Companion: Preparing for the COBIT 4.1 Foundation Examination is designed to help you get up to speed on COBIT 4.1 quickly, and focuses specifically on those aspects of COBIT 4.1 that you will need to know in order to pass the exam. For example, COBIT 4.1 contains thirty-four processes but only two are tested in detail by the exam, therefore, whilst all the processes are mentioned, only COBIT Processes PO10 and DS2 are presented in full detail in this book.

Does exactly what it says on the tin; helps you prepare for the COBIT 4.1 Foundation Examination. I passed on my first attempt. Very pleased. Could not have done that without the help of this excellent little book. The mock exam questions really helped me focus on the things I needed to learn. Two thumbs up!!!

Whether you just want to learn the basics of COBIT 4.1 or prepare to sit the COBIT 4.1 Foundation Exam, this book is an excellent introduction to the subject. One nice feature is the inclusion of mock exams, of which there are three, each consisting of forty questions. The questions can be quite challenging and require you to have developed a very good understanding of the basics of COBIT 4.1, which this book gives. The answers identify the page in the book from where the question was sourced so it is quite easy to work why the correct answer IS the correct answer (or why your incorrect answer is wrong).

I am a forward-looking information technologist that wants to re-invent personal computing for the 21st century, and, by so doing, make the world a better, more equitable, place. I believe that my open-source-based Stream Tone concept, described in my non-fiction book, The STREAM TONE: The Future of Personal Computing?, can help to bridge the digital divide, connect the unconnected, and bring the Internet, personal computing, and Web to the next billion people. In very simple terms, the Stream Tone is about ensuring that the future is more evenly distributed. It is a bold goal, to be sure, but one that can definitely be achieved if we all work together to make it happen.
