The Society Game

Olivia, the Wife

by

‘The devil walks amongst us. You can’t see, hear or smell him but you can sense his presence and when you do, run...’

Why choose love? Instead choose a credit card attached to a gullible man who will pay for the shoes, lunches, the mansion in the country and the skilled surgeon to scrub at the expiry date of your youth membership card.

Olivia Hopkins chose this life but bore the consequences of a brutal, lonely and loveless marriage to a man who chose money and other women over his wife.

From the outside Olivia was a woman society admired but the truth is often hidden behind the lawyer who can shout the loudest and distort the appearance of the most depraved of life choices. The Society Game is the first novel in the series.

Wow - surprise after surprise! A bit of a slower start, but then I couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait for the rest of the books in the series - I need more!!!!

What happens when money overshadows love? Can it make everything better or is it the root of evil? This was a book that was full of some very interesting twists and unexpected developments.

The Society Game is a story about choices. Olivia married for money. Is it better to marry for love or money? Olivia tells her story in letters written to her nephew. I think that's a weird choice by the author writing to a nephew. The writing is good and unfolds at a good pace. It's a thought provoking look at what's behind the big house, fancy car and botox facade. Society certainly values money and social standing seemingly above all else. Olivia made a choice and lived with the consequences. It's a good read overall with an important message. I recommend for fans of drama and some mystery. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

This book looks into the life behind the facade and follows Olivia from a young age to her destiny. The story challenges the purpose of how each of us chose to live our lives, possession v experience. The author has pulled in a lot of insight of a society that many of us look into but are not part of nor would want to be. Its a great story that had me wanting more and am looking forward to the next one. And to know this is a debut novel shows the talent this author has, really enjoyed and highly recommend. Enjoy!!
