The Spirit of London highly commended in book awards

As the Independent Author Book Awards open for 2017, we look back at the success that Matador authors had in the competition last year. Last year, Matador authors Alison Clink and Jennifer M Calder clinched second and third place.

Several Matador titles also came highly commended including The Spirit of London by prolific author Rob Keeley who's received much praise for his ‘Spirits’ series. Rob’s first novel in the series, Childish Spirits, was longlisted for the inaugural Bath Children’s Novel Award and was later nominated for the People’s Book Prize. Rob hopes to continue his success with the third novel in the series, The Sword of the Spirit, which he hopes to enter into Words for the Wounded Independent Author Book Award 2017.

Words for the Wounded raises money to help wounded service personnel mainly through writing prizes and events. Every penny raised goes to those in need, because the three grannies running the charity absorb all costs.

The inaugural winner of the Independent Author Book Award, Jane Cable, published by Matador, has been taken by Endeavour publishers, and last year's winner, Dr Kathleen Thompson, is selling internationally. Don't miss out on the chance to improve the visibility of your book.
