Words for the Wounded
The Words for the Wounded Independent Author Book Award (for self-published authors: fiction and non-fiction) will open for entries on the 10th November 2016, close on 11th March 2017. Winners to be announced on 6th June 2017 on the website. Entry fee: £12.50
Words for the Wounded raises money to help wounded service personnel mainly through writing prizes and events. Every penny raised goes to those in need, because the three grannies running the charity absorb all costs.
The inaugural winner of the Independent Author Book Award, Jane Cable – published by Matador, has been taken by Endeavour publishers, and last year's winner, Dr Kathleen Thompson, is selling internationally. Don't miss out on the chance to improve the visibility of your book.
The judge this year is Gillian Holmes, a freelance editor who has worked in publishing for over 20 years. She has edited many bestselling authors over the years – such as Margaret Graham, Dorothy Koomson and Katie Flynn.
The top three authors will be reviewed and they will have an opportunity to write ‘A Day in the Life’ feature to be published on www.frostmagazine.com
