The Corpse Lodging picked up by independent publisher

Having always intended to self-publish his book, The Corpse Lodging, EJ Henry received a great deal of complimentary feedback. ‘When I sent out a review copy to a recognised crime writer he suggested some improvements and to look at independent publishers,’ explains EJ Henry. ‘I presumed that literary agents and publishers were inundated in what is a saturated market so initially I chose to self-publish with Troubador because of their excellent reputation in the market. They are, without doubt, a highly professional team.’

Following compliments from other writers, EJ Henry was thrilled to be offered a contract with Endeavour Press, the UK’s leading independent digital publisher.

The Corpse Lodging is the story of Ed Donovan who, having suffered terrible trauma as a hostage of Somali pirates, is relieved to be welcomed into the isolated but caring community of Ballaugh, the ancestral home of his partner, Mary, on the Isle of Man. Together with their son they start to build a new life in the idyllic former fishing village, but their happiness proves short-lived. Ed senses a change in Mary and when he begins to hear voices in the dead of night he fears his loneliness may finally be spiralling into insanity.

Speaking about the news, EJ Henry said, ‘I am delighted to have been offered a publishing contract by Endeavour Press for The Corpse Lodging and look forward to working with them.’
