From Matador to Mainstream
This spring / summer seems the release of 3 former Matador books as mainstream published titles.
Michael J. Ward's Destiny Quest, originally self-published with Matador, is released this month by Gollancz. Barbara Mutch's novel has been rebranded as The House Maid's Tale by Headline, having been self-published as Karoo Plainsong by Matador and will be released in July 2012. And lastly, Andrew Swanston's The King's Spy, originally published by Matador as The King's Codebreaker, will be on general sale from Bantam Press in July 2012 too.
We're thrilled that these Matador authors have gone on to experience success in mainstream publishing.
We also thought it would be an interesting exercise to compare and contrast the covers of their mainstream books to the Matador covers... in the picture you can see each cover - with the Matador version on the left and the new cover on the right - which do you prefer!?
