Rob Keeley

Hi, welcome to my webpage! My name is Rob and I’m a writer. I’ve been writing stories and plays since I was a kid and I used to lie on the hearthrug and write with a smudgy pen and do all the pictures myself in felt tip, before stapling all the pages together (but hopefully not to the rug). Fortunately, Matador/Troubador know much better ways of putting a book together and in 2011 they published my first book, which is The Alien in the Garage and Other Stories, a book of short stories for children. Two further books of children's stories, The (Fairly) Magic Show and Other Stories and The Dinner Club and Other Stories are also available. My first novel for children, a ghost story called Childish Spirits, was published by Troubador in July 2014 and the sequel, The Spirit of London, is published in September 2015.

What else about me? Well, I studied Law at university and I’ve worked in offices and done voluntary work in schools, including helping kids with their reading. I’ve got a Certificate and a Master of Arts degree in Creative Writing from Lancaster University. I am also a scriptwriter with credits in BBC Radio and am currently looking to move into TV and film. I have recently completed a Filmmaking course from the National Film and Television School.

My hobbies include reading, quiz nights, doing magic tricks (quite badly), playing the odd bit of keyboard (worse), theatre, TV and going out with friends.

I hope you enjoy my books.
