Tim Stockil

Tim Stockil read French at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, then trained as a director at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He spent ten years working in the theatre before moving into the world of training and development. He now runs his own training and development consultancy, Ci: Creative intelligence Ltd, which specialises in running ‘soft skills’ courses, particularly on Personal Impact, Presentation Skills, Influencing, Negotiation and many other aspects of interpersonal effectiveness. He believes that being a theatre director and being a trainer require the same skills – namely helping to draw out the best performance possible, whether from an actor or a course participant.

Start with an Earthquake... is Tim's first book though his second, on Personal Presence and Impact, is now in the pipeline. Both are based on his practical experience of working in the theatre and on twenty-five years of training and coaching people from a wide range of organisations.

Tim is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and is a director of the internationally renowned theatre company Cheek by Jowl.
