"Judging by my dogs' appetites for the recipes they've tasted, this is a book we can't wait for. Think of the goodness, think of the savings, and think of what the money raised will do for homeless hounds."
Annette Crosbie, actress and campaigner

Cooking for your pet is a good way of encouraging children to get more involved in their pets wellbeing. Many commercial biscuits contain colourings, flavour enhancers and other preservatives that may not be good for your dogs. Many dogs are now also suffering allergies, in the same way as people; and many commercial treats simply are not suited to them.

Many of the recipes in A La Bark Baking are very quick and easy to make, and will freeze until you need them.

The book has wheat free, meat free, low calorie and low protein recipes to suit most dogs. Some fun recipes for birthday and special occasion cakes are included, but even these are still healthy options.

Every year, many thousands of greyhounds are bred for the racing industry. Many of these dogs never see a track as they are just not fast enough and most dogs have retired by the age of 5 years, many before that due to injury.

There are many organisations and individuals out there trying to save and rehome these dogs, but they need financial help and publicity.

There is a popular misconception of the breed that they need lots of exercise and do not make good house pets. Nothing could be further from the truth, they require only short walks and are ideal companions for the disabled and elderly.

For every book sold a donation will be made to help fund rescue kennels, in particular any kennels that could home greyhounds or lurchers.
