“Brilliant comic writing. JookBoxFury is both a celebration and a satire of the rock ‘n’roll scene, its past and future, its life and probable death. Freakish, wild, bizarre, like its characters, but also accurate and full of insight into pop music culture’s words and rhythms. With zest, energy, gossip and nostalgia, this is a novel with much to say about a phenomenon that entertains millions and even changes lives.”
- Paul Mills, Gregory Fellow in Poetry at Leeds University and author of the Routledge Creative Writing Coursebook
"This book made me laugh out loud so many times... Kevern Stafford has a uniquely clever way of mixing reality and fiction, so much so that I started believing bric(01)age was a real musical movement on a par with Britpop. You will love this." Andy Watkins, aka Casper Hauser

JookBoxFury is the story of a chaotic jukebox song pickers' game show as it takes to the road to launch the psychedelic alcopop, Jook – the drink that turns everything green for go-go.
Like a cross between Seinfeld and a beat generation Top of the Pops special, JookBoxFury is a paean and an epitaph to rock and pop music. All rock 'n' roll is there, from its art and glories to its mythical stories.
As the 'voice of the fan', Ray Mitchell has to impress the hostile Jook marketing team to get onto the tour. Then he faces the other contestants: a crazed cult rock icon, an IT girl, a rocking academic, a wordy NME scribe, and a gimmick obsessed Radio Wonderful DJ. If Ray can beat them with his jukebox selections than he'll be crowned the Jook Duke of the Juke and could save himself, and rock 'n' roll, from mediocrity – unless the alcopop's strange side effects are exposed first…
JookBoxFury – from Lonnie Donegan to Equally Humdrum. From the dawn of rock 'n' roll to the discovery of the nouvelle bric(01)age. Jook, baby, Jook.
