The BOY Who IMAGINED...and Found He Could DRAW!
by Ann and Fred Onymouse

This story is about a ten-year-old boy, Vapi, who is a misfit at junior school - being terribly backward at lessons. He is also taunted by a bully.

Vapi has, however, an exciting escape route, when life becomes too unbearable. This is his imagination, which takes him on all kinds of unusual adventures; and through his imagination he finds he can draw anything!

He manages to make money for his family (when his artist father collapses) by drawing on the pavement; and is invited to take part in a Television Show. The show is an experiment to see how children can help elderly (including those suffering from dementia) and disabled people discover or re-discover talents, such as drawing!

Vapi, who has inadvertently brought the bully's helpless old grandfather with him, draws the winning picture, wins the prize of £200 and a scholarship to an innovative new school. He will be helping those who have lost their memory, or are disabled in other ways to rediscover/discover talents such as drawing.

Vapi, the failure, is suddenly in his element, with his newly discovered talent for helping others!
