Chasing the Sun with Henry
by Gary Brockwell

Eddie Dungiven, children’s entertainer and close hand magician aka; “The Party King”, is bored with his life, bored of the routine with his wife Sally and her preoccupation to cleaning and partaking in flawed get rich quick schemes.

His only respite from this entrapment, regular forays to a stunning, secluded beach with Henry his Collie-Spaniel cross. At the time of morning they are forced to go, due to Henry’s inability to behave in company, they have the beach and mountain backdrop entirely to themselves.

That is until one day, a chance encounter with a beautiful stranger, Cerys Sindon, exercising her own dog, changes everything. Sally’s behaviour becomes increasingly erratic and the relationship with Eddie deteriorates, a fact he refuses to truly recognise. Instead he feels “alive” when with Cerys and he prepares to act on impulse in the ultimate betrayal with her.

But the sudden demise of his father figure, Clifford Wilson “the Summer Fete Bouncer” and the sentiments of his good friend Gus Eastley, focuses Eddie to revaluate what is really important to him, what is central in his life, what will make him happy.

Desperately searching for answers, Eddie is drawn into the world of the medium Igneous McKenzie and the personal revelations he presents and the message he conveys, have far reaching implications for both Eddie and Cerys and a dark secret she holds.
