Heralding Article 25
A People's Strategy for World Transformation
by Mohammed Mesbahi

In this pioneering analysis of world problems, Mohammed Mesbahi argues that meeting the basic entitlements outlined in Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights — for adequate food, housing, healthcare and social security for all — is imperative for the survival of humanity in the 21st century. But after so many years of political inaction, only the massed goodwill of ordinary people can bring about an end to poverty in a world of plenty through enormous, peaceful and continuous protests across all countries.

The line of enquiry pursued in Mesbahi’s five-part study is concerned with how to galvanise these unprecedented global demonstrations on behalf of the poorest members of the human family, millions of whom are needlessly dying as each year passes. Central to the book’s unique discourse is a set of instructions for engaged citizens and the youth who are encouraged to lead the way in forging a huge united public voice, one that has the potential to reorder government priorities and empower the United Nations to truly represent the people of the world.

Through a graceful and often poetic prose, the reader is guided to investigate the question of world transformation from psychological, moral and spiritual perspectives, as well as from a broader political and economic analysis. As Mesbahi elucidates, we ultimately need a new education that can equip the citizens of every nation to think in terms of the ‘One Humanity’, with a universal understanding that the principles of sharing and cooperation are the foundations of a sustainable global economic system.

This beautifully written book is a clarion call to all of us to save our world by listening to our hearts and through heartfelt understanding find the truth. Mesbahi uses the simplicity of solving our biggest problem by using Article 25 of the UN Human Rights Proclamation to light the path for our common sense and innate spiritual intelligence to overcome the divisions, disorder, sorrow and violence brought about primarily by the commercialization of just about everything. Our world has become upside down in its values because of our quest for power has made us blind to the degradation of our own spiritual health. Human Rights and our right relationship to our fellow human beings has been replaced by greed, selfishness and theft as the driving forces of financial and economic activity. It is like a virus of commercialization and the profit motive. Our hearts remember that everything that happens on this earth is spiritually interrelated and rooted in our consciousness. If we heal ourselves and listen to our hearts we will understand how to fix the resultant problems. When we finally reach out in right relationship and not with only charity but with justice to the suffering, starving and oppressed people and we mass together to show our governments that with all our hearts united we insist on the dignity, unity and goodwill and with justice for all. We insist on sharing the world's resources, saving humanity by feeding the hungry, educating the children, healthcare for all and as a result of all this we will make certain, also, because the suffering of masses of humankind and the degradation of the Earth are closely related, that the Earth recovers from our rapaciousness. This book instructs us on how to lead the way in fomenting a untied public voice for these essential healing right relationships. PLEASE READ THIS BOOK AND ACT TOGETHER; WE HAVE NO TIME TO LOSE.
