I had decided to write my stories to explain my early years to my children. I was really enjoying writing, when the roof fell in... a stroke. I was disheartened and desperate. When I tried writing after convalescing there was nothing. Like my speech, I could not write.

Speech therapy is very good, but slow. There are no quick fixes. I accepted the inevitable, there were no more stories. Without my wife there was absolutely no chance to re kindle the flame. I found it was like a brick wall, which I could not climb. Then we were lucky, we found a therapist, and together a glimmer of hope. Words became sentences and eventually paragraphs. Slowly I completed my first story and tried some others. “You should think about publishing your work” said my therapist. A seed was sown....
