Christopher Leary was born in 1953 in New Zealand. His parents suffered from wanderlust and he was obliged to travel the world and live among strange peoples... not least of which were the English, who gave him his education. From them he acquired a lifelong respect for queues and a degree in architecture. His headmaster told him the world was his oyster so he set about seeing if this was true. He spent many oyster-guzzling years amongst the New Yorkers, who were just as strange as the English but in an altogether different way. During this period he learnt much about the theatre of painted sheetrock that is corporate design. After that, the Berlin period. This is when the writing bug struck. These days he lives in Cologne.
